This is some intense stuff! Near Delancy Street where I used to spend a lot of time, with some fabulous people I met around there, many of Latin descent, there is this amazing little Cuban market. There is a little Santaria shop in there.....I used to love looking at all the soaps candles puppets and stuff. Anyway, I just found out who this saint is as I had thought it was another name for Jesus. Jesus Malverde is the patron saint of drug traffickers his origin in Mexico.....I am not making any statement on the drug trade I just find this fascinating. There are some beautiful shrines built to him. In general I love Latin American, particularly Central American art its so colorful and expressive.
